Launch of the Creating Value for All Report in Belgium

Overview

The launch of the Creating Value for All report was organized in Brussels, Belgium, on July 2, 2008. Mr. Christian Thommessen, former Director of the Private Sector Division of UNDP, who presented the report said that “opportunities exist to build bridges between business and the poor for mutual benefit”.

Panelists included Mr. Henri de Cazotte, Director for External Relations and Communication, Agence Française de Développement; Thijs Berman, Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Development, Member of the European Parliament; and Eric Cornuel, Director General, Member of Advisory Board of the Report, European Foundation for Management Development.

“This report allows us to analyse things in a simple way; trade with the poor offers tremendous opportunities. There are many constraints, but there are also many solutions. Creating Value for All – is exactly what we need, it allows us to bring a positive shift to development policy”, said Mr. Thijs Berman, Member of the European Parliament.
