Launch of the Creating Value for All Report in Cambodia

Overview

The launch of the Creating Value for All report was organized in Phnom Pehn, Cambodia on November 27 and 28, 2008 at the inaugural Cambodia Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Conference. Mr. Sahba Sobhani, Programme Manager, UNDP noted that market opportunities in Cambodia abound, and the high poverty headcount and high income inequality can be alleviated through inclusive business models. Models that improve access to finance can meet significant credit and savings needs in Cambodia where less than five percent of the population is banked. Rural business models that focus on agriculture activity can increase employment and productivity. In addition, the high mobile connectivity in Cambodia can enable mobile-related business activity such as cell phone banking.
