Launch of the Creating Value for All Report in Paris (France)

1 July 2008

The first launch of the Creating Value for All Report took place in Paris on July 1 and was hosted by the French Development Agency (AFD). The seminar – which gathered about 100 participants from the private sector, the public sector and civil society – opened with introductory speeches from Jean-Michel Severino, Head of ADF, and Bruce Jenks, Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the Partnerships Bureau (UNDP). Sahba Sobhani, Programme Manager of the GIM Initiative, and Mamadou Gaye, Senegalese case author, presented the Report and its methodology, while private sector representatives Guy Marboeuf from Electricité de France (EDF) and Grégoire Guyon from Armor-Lux shared their experience of doing business with the poor in Mali. The launch event was officially closed by a speech from Mr. Alain Joyandet, French Secretary of State for Cooperation and Francophonie.
